Remote work is no longer a luxury enjoyed by 5% of the population. As of May, 72% of white-collar workers were still working from home after pandemic closures, according to a Gallup survey. Nearly a third of people worldwide say they’d quit if they were forced to go back to the office.
The shift to remote work has also led to new migratory patterns. We’ve seen tech workers empty out of the San Francisco Bay to find cheaper properties in more rural parts of the state.
But what about Irvine? For those working remotely or hoping to go remote, the Orange County city may be the perfect destination. A new analysis from CommercialCafe says Irvine is the best city in California for remote work and one of the best cities for working remotely nationwide.
Irvine landed the 10th spot out of 20 American cities. It has the second-highest wages among the cities on Commercial Cafe’s list, with the median wage for those aged 25 and older clocking in at almost $73,000 per year.
