After nine years as Legislative Director for Cal Cities’ Los Angeles Division, Kristine Guerrero has been selected as the organization’s Public Affairs Director. Guerrero will lead a team of 16 people, overseeing engagement on statewide ballot measure campaigns, providing legislative advocacy support, and advancing member engagement and coalition building.
Guerrero’s career in public advocacy spans over 25 years. She has been with Cal Cities for nearly a decade and helped develop the organization’s 2018 Strategic Growth Plan.
“I am confident that under Kristine’s leadership, the Public Affairs team will build upon its success in serving our membership and amplifying the voices of city leaders in public policy circles locally, regionally, and statewide,” Cal Cities Executive Director Carolyn Coleman told the Board in June.
The California Contract Cities Association issued the following statement congratulating Guerrero:
“Kristine has been a staunch partner to CCCA in her previous roles with Cal Cities. We look forward to continuing our partnership to strengthen local control.”
