The Laguna Beach City Council has approved a three-year contract with incoming city manager David Kiff. He’ll take over May 6 at an annual salary of $315,000.
Kiff most recently served as Division Director for the Sonoma County Department of Health Services, overseeing homelessness programs. Until 2018, he was City Manager of Newport Beach. Kiff was in charge of numerous capital projects, including the city’s Civic Center.
“My role as City Manager will be focused on fostering collaboration and innovation to address the needs of our residents and continued enhancement of the overall quality of life in our community,” Kiff said in a statement. “I look forward to working closely with the City Council, City staff, and community stakeholders to ensure Laguna Beach continues to thrive and evolve responsibly."
Kiff succeeds Interim City Manager Sean Joyce who took over in September following the departure of Shoreh Dupuis.
