Lake Forest, California has a new city manager at the helm. Debra Rose, who most recently served as Interim City Manager, was appointed to the permanent position effective May 2 to oversee day-to-day operations in the city.
“Debra Rose has proven that she is dedicated, committed, and loves our wonderful city,” said Mayor Scott Voigts. “We are blessed to have her as our new City Manager.”
Rose previously worked for the City of Garden Grove. She became the Assistant to the City Manager of Lake Forest in 2000 and was later promoted to Director of Management Services to head up the Human Resources, Public Information, and Information Technology divisions. She then became Assistant City Manager/Director of Economic Development and Community Preservation. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from UCLA and a Master’s in Public Administration from Cal State University Fullerton.
More than 30 people applied for Lake Forests’ city manager job. Rose received unanimous approval from the city council.
