The City of Lancaster has chosen its replacement for retiring top administrator Mark Bozigian and it’s someone city officials and residents know well.
Deputy City Manager Jason Caudle was approved in a unanimous vote of the City Council Nov. 13. He will assume the city manager’s job next month at an annual salary of $290,000 a year.
Caudle has held the deputy city manager position since 2008 and previously served as the city manager of Tehachapi. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration from California State University Bakersfield.
Mayor R. Rex Parris said Caudle’s appointment will ensure a smooth transition, given the city’s familiarity with him. Caudle too said his experience with Lancaster means he is keenly aware of its key challenges and priorities.
Lancaster’s current city manager announced his departure last month, capping off an extraordinary 24-year career with the city.
The Antelope Valley Press has more on Caudle’s appointment here and here.
