Lemoore City Manager Placed on Administrative Leave

Lemoore Police Chief Darrell Smith has been named acting city manager after the city's top executive, Andi Welsh, was placed on administrative leave.

Welsh was placed on leave on Jan. 11 for undisclosed reasons, according to an announcement from Mayor Ray Madrigal. The City Council made the decision in closed session.

It’s a personnel matter,” the mayor said. “That’s all I can say.”

Welsh was hired in 2015. She had previously been working in Arizona. After just 9 months on the job, the council gave her raise, saying she was doing a great job and deserving of the boost.
