West Coast continues to be the Best Coast
Everyone is aware that the national job growth levels have been in the positive for months and months. (Thanks Obama.)
But expectations, projections, estimates, and guesstimates only get you so far, which cities are delivering on those and which cities are failing?
Great news California, four cities are on the top ten, and none are on the bottom ten.
While the number one city exceeding job expectations is Dallas, Texas, California breaks into the list at #2, which San Jose leading the Golden State charge. SJ posted almost 40,000 jobs more than expected in 2014 and 2015. The list also notes that no other city had a higher percentage of a city’s overall employment attributed to the recent growth than San Jose.
The third spot went to Los Angeles, which is reassuring when the other biggest cities in the country (Chicago and NYC) failed big time, taking spots #1 and #2 on the list of cities failing to meet expectations.
San Francisco and Riverside both made the top ten, taking spots #8 and #9 respectively, in an apparent showing that California is a force to be reckoned with in terms of jobs growth!
