Just in case you’ve been sleeping too well at night, we have the latest list of bed bug-infested cities from Terminix, and it’s pretty much all bad news for California.
Los Angeles, which ranked 14th for bed bug infestations on Terminix’s list in 2014, climbed all the way to #4 last year. That puts it in line with the troubling rankings provided by Orkin in 2015. San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose, meanwhile, came in at #10 after having previously escaped Terminix’s list altogether.
Detroit, Michigan trumped Philadelphia in bed bug infestations for the first time last year with the #1 ranking. Cleveland-Akron, Ohio followed Philly at #3.
So what should you do if you suspect you have bed bugs? One thing we don’t recommend is lighting yourself and your apartment on fire like this guy did. Instead, call a professional and have the pests removed.
While we’re on the topic, the Huffington Post has also provided some helpful tips for spotting bed bugs in your hotel room.
