A New Jersey resident went viral last week after breakdancing during a town hall meeting to protest rising property taxes.
Will Thilly is a familiar presence in Cranford, New Jersey. Residents and local leaders know his humorous antics well. But it’s not all for laughs. Thilly, who is running as an independent for the Cranford Township Committee, delivered pointed questions in between his now famous floor spins and moonwalk.
“Why did our taxes go up so much?” he asked the dais. “We were told the referendum would raise each household $400 a bank and mine went up about $900 bucks? What actual expenses were incurred by the schools that weren't told to the public when we voted on that referendum?”
Thilly was referring to a $75 million bond referendum for public school facility upgrades which passed last year.
Thilly’s moves may not lower property taxes, but they’ve already raised the roof.
