One city hopes it has found a way around an outdoor dining ban that is devastating restaurants in Los Angeles County.
“Though Los Angeles County has ordered restaurants to suspend outdoor dining through the holidays, the city of Manhattan Beach has implemented a plan to allow residents to continue using the space. The city has repurposed newly closed outdoor dining areas as public seating areas where people can sit and potentially dine out,” the Los Angeles Times reports.
Face coverings must be worn and social distance maintained. Restaurant workers cannot directly serve patrons and patrons cannot gather with people outside their household. Alcohol consumption is prohibited and the areas will remain closed from 10 p.m. until 7:30 a.m. After all these rules and regs, why not just take your food home?
The county did not issue a statement to the Times, but senior city analyst George Gabriel confirmed the county has already contacted the city and paid the businesses a visit.
