He’s filled us with laughter on Saturday Night Live — not to mention Clifford, Three Amigos, and Father of the Bride. Now, actor-comedian Martin Short has been named Mayor of Funner, California. He was sworn in on Monday, May 13.
Funner may be the best fake town in the Golden State. It’s a PR gimmick for Harrah’s Casino SoCal. The San Diego County “city” was established in 2016 by the Rincon Tribal Council.
Funner has cycled through a number of famous mayors, including David Hasselhoff, Rob Riggle, and Jane Lynch. All mayors must vow to “protect fun, good times, laughing out loud and positive vibes from the negative influences determined to turn a smile upside down.”
How could you not love that?
