Mayor and Councilman Draw Blood in a City Hall Brawl

Mayor William Bell and City Councilor Marcus Lundy might not be all that familiar to you as they hail from Alabama and both serve the City of Birmingham. That doesn’t make their altercation any less notable.

While there is no clear video of the fight, the recording of the council meeting did pick up the noise from the scuffle and you see the rest of those meeting rapidly call a recess.

Mayor Bell has filed charges against Councilman Lundy who, if convicted, would face up to a year in jail and a maximum fine of $6,000.

While reports mention the backroom conversation shifting to more personal topics, no exact motivation for the scuffle has been revealed yet.
