The City of McFarland and the Bakersfield Police Department are asking for the public’s help locating McFarland City Manager John Wooner who has been missing since Tuesday, May 14.
Wooner was last seen around 5:30 p.m. at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Bakersfield where he was visiting the gravesite of a family member. His wife reported him missing that evening when he failed to return home.
The Bakersfield Police Department has described his disappearance as “suspicious” and out of character. They are asking anyone with information to call Detective Keith Cason at (661) 326-3868 or the BPD at (661) 327-7111.
Wooner is a 57-year-old white male with black hair and brown eyes. He is 6 feet tall and 300 pounds and was last seen wearing a white dress shirt and khaki pants. Witnesses at the cemetery saw him driving a silver Dodge Durango city vehicle with license plate no.1390353.
The McFarland City Council held a closed meeting to discuss Wooner’s job performance evaluation on May 16 but no action was taken.
