Milpitas City Manager Julie Edmonds-Mares is stepping down just over one year after assuming the job. No reason has been given for her departure.
In a statement, she said she enjoyed her time with the city.
"I will miss the friends I have made both inside City Hall and in our community, but I look forward to the opportunity to apply the lessons and insights that I've gained from my experience in Milpitas,” Edmonds-Mares added.
Edmond-Mares was hired in January 2018 following the resignation of longtime city manager Tom Williams. Deputy City Manager Steve McHarris will assume the interim role Tuesday.
