Cash rules everything around the campaign trails.
California’s 12th Assembly District is not in the cards, for now, for Bill Zoslocki.
The Modesto Councilman has ended his campaign to succeed Assemblywoman Kristin Olsen as representative for parts of Stanislaus and San Joaquin Counties as well as a list of cities including Turlock, Manteca, and a chunk of Modesto.
Zoslocki cites a failure to meet fundraising goals as reason to suspend the campaign.
Councilman Zoslocki said, “I’m a businessman. ... It didn’t make sense to continue, so it’s time to move on.” The councilman’s seat in Modesto is back up grabs in Nov 2017.
Five people remain in the Assembly race with former San Joaquin Co Supervisor Ken Vogel leading the fundraising race, bringing in just shy of $150,000 last year. Zoslocki, comparatively, netted about $54,000 from donors last year.
