After eight months as Interim City Manager, the Monte Sereno City Council has decided to make Diana Perkins’ appointment permanent.
On May 20, the Council hired Perkins as City Manager, effective immediately. The appointment followed a comprehensive recruitment process. Per her employment contract, Perkins will earn $245,000 per year.
“We’re thrilled to have Diana take on the role of City Manager permanently,” said Mayor Burton Craig. “Diana has led Planning for the City since July 2021 and, since September 2024 has also served as Interim City Manager. This experience and knowledge, coupled with her extensive background in city planning, makes her the ideal choice to lead Monte Sereno. We are confident in her ability to guide our city forward and ensure the high quality of life for our residents.”
As a City Planner for Monte Sereno, Perkins “was instrumental in getting the City’s Housing Element approved by the State of California,” according to the city.
Before coming to Monte Sereno, she was a Plan Check Manager at Shums Coda Associates and a Permit Center Coordinator for the City of Sunnyvale. She holds a Bachelor’s in Economics and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the University of San Francisco.
