Moreno Valley has selected Martin Koczanowicz as its next city attorney, filling a more than year-long vacancy created by the April 2015 departure of Suzanne Bryant.
“He is an outstanding lawyer with excellent credentials and the experience necessary to run the city’s legal department,” said Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez.
Koczanowicz has practiced law for over 25 years and worked as the city attorney for Tulare and Grover Beach previously. He also held the position of deputy city attorney for Fresno in the 1990s.
Koczanowicz will earn an annual salary of $235,000 annually, with his official start date slated for Sept. 30. He will be the third individual to hold the permanent position in the past four years.
