California is home to three of the five least educated metropolitan areas in the country, according to a new analysis by WalletHub.
For the study, WalletHub compared the nation’s 150 largest metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) across 11 key metrics, including the share of adults with a bachelor’s degree or higher and the quality of public schools.

At the top of the list, Ann Arbor, Michigan was ranked the most educated metro area in the country, followed by Durham–Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
