Mountain View, California has the highest concentration of workers in California, according to new rankings from HomeArea.com, which were compiled based on the latest U.S. Census figures.

Mountain View’s labor force percentage stands at an impressive 74.4%. It rose from 71% last year, boosting the Silicon Valley City from #6 to #1 in the rankings. Mountain View was followed by Santa Barbara (73%) which saw a massive change in its own right, climbing from #52 to #2 on the list.

The U.S. labor force is defined as those employed in either the civilian or armed forces, as well as those that are unemployed and looking for work. For its analysis, HomeArea.com looked only at cities with a population of 60,000 or more whose data was sufficient enough to gauge.

These were the top ten:

1. Mountain View
2. Santa Barbara
3. Costa Mesa
4. San Francisco
5. Redwood City
6. Tustin
7. Sunnyvale
8. Burbank
9. South San Francisco
10. Pleasanton

The largest increase was seen in Bellflower, where the labor force rose from 59.4% to 67.6% (a change of 13.9%). The largest decrease was in Merced where the labor force dropped 11.2% from 60.5% to 53.7%.

California’s labor force estimate is now 63.7%, up 0.6% from 63.3%.

Data is compiled and reported by HomeArea.com. Report does not reflect statistics on all 482 California cities.
