The City of Elk Grove has announced the appointment of a new Finance Director. The choice is Rajneil Prasad, who has held the same position in Napa for the past two years. Previously, he worked as Napa’s Deputy Finance Director.
This is a homecoming of sorts. Prasad worked in the Sacramento area before he was hired by Napa, holding finance positions in both Citrus Heights and West Sacramento. He earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix and his master’s in accounting from William Jessup University.
“We are excited to welcome Rajneil to Elk Grove’s leadership team,” said Elk Grove Assistant City Manager Jacqui Guzmán. “Raj’s deep technical expertise, collaborative approach, and commitment to continuous improvement will be tremendous assets to our organization.”
Napa has fared well during Prasad’s tenure. In December, the city announced a $4.6 million surplus.
Prasad will assume his new role in Elk Grove on May 12.
