On Wednesday March 18, California Forward is in Sacramento convening leading public and private sector voices on Open Data to discuss policy proposals and other means of advancing innovation in California State and Local Government. This event will center on concrete policy proposals and a review of working policies in California and across the US.

CA Fwd’s initial Data Summit (pictured above), held in March 2014, convened some of the leading public sector and private developers of government transparency tools, as well as over 150 opinion leaders and policy makers. Building on that momentum, CA Fwd convened regional events to incubate models, share data management practices, and elevate the use of data to encourage job creation, improve government performance and engage the public. This year’s summit will look holistically at state and local agencies, and seek to elevate the use of data across jurisdictions to advance critical policies.
