Watsonville has tapped its longtime employee Nick Calubaquib to serve as Deputy City Manager.
Calubaquib currently serves as Watsonville’s Parks and Community Services Director — a position he will keep while working alongside Deputy City Manager Nathalie Manning.
According to City Manager Tamara Vides, Calubaquib will be responsible for community outreach, strategic planning and citywide initiatives. Manning will continue to oversee human resources and internal operations.
Calubaquib has worked for Watsonville for the past 13 years. He previously worked as a Recreation Manager for Morgan Hill. He earned a B.A. in Sociology and Latin American Studies from UC San Diego and obtained a Masters in Recreation Management from San José State University.
