Paso Robles City Manager Ty Lewis is out on medical leave for an unknown length of time, the San Luis Obispo Tribune reports.
Lewis’ hiatus began last month after he collapsed during a city meeting and was taken to a hospital. According to Lewis, he has been suffering with issues related to his heart and blood pressure.
Assistant City Manager Chris Huot is serving as acting city manager for the time being.
“Our residents and visitors can rest assured that the City is operating without disruption,” Huot told The Tribune. “Our dedicated team is fully committed to providing essential services and ensuring the well-being of our community.”
Lewis has served as city manager since 2021. He was previously SLO’s police chief. Huot has spent the last 13 years in city management and has been employed as assistance city manager since 2022.
