Rancho Cucamonga has been named an All-America City by the National Civic League. It is the only California city to receive the recognition this year and the only city recognized on the West coast.
“The 2020 All-America City Award is focused on celebrating examples of civic engagement practices that advance health and well-being in local communities,” according to the NCL website. This year’s theme was “Enhancing health and well-being through civic engagement.”
In a virtual presentation, Rancho Cucamonga touted its Los Amigos Park, as well various programs that encourage health and wellness in the city.
Ten other cities were also recognized this year: Algoma, WI; Danville, VA; El Paso, TX; Franklin, TN; Miami Gardens, FL; Muncie, IN; Pitt County, NC; Portsmouth, OH; and Rochester, NY.
