San Jacinto’s new city manager Rob Johnson will be taking home a leaner salary than his predecessor Tim Hults. Johnson’s contract, which went before the council Tuesday, stipulates an annual salary of $194,000, which is $22,000 less than Hults was earning as the city’s top executive.
“One of our goals was to save money,” said Councilman Andrew Kotyuk. And save they did. “We negotiated real hard to bring down those costs. I think we struck a really good deal with Rob.”
San Jacinto’s new hire most recently worked for the City of Menifee. He stepped down from that job on Dec. 27. His reasons for doing so remain unclear.
