It’s almost October, and I’ll be damned if that doesn’t mean some creepy clown hullabaloo popping up in small, rural towns to scare the living daylights out of us all.
Last year, it was actual clowns stalking the streets of America. This year, it’s red balloons reminiscent of Pennywise’s signature calling card in the horror film “It” showing up on sewer grates and lamp posts in the Pennsylvania town of Lititz.
Sorry, we’re not having it. Not this time.
For what it’s worth, Lititiz isn’t either. The police department seemed to have fun talking about the “creative” stunt on its Facebook page. As long as no one literally goes clowning around like last year, they’re ok. They’re just getting tired of the phone calls -- and having to remove the balloons.
The much anticipated remake of “It” premiers this Friday in case you didn’t know. Occam’s Razor suggests the prank is related to the theatre release.
UPDATE: A group of teen girls has admitted to the stunt.
Well done, ladies. Now knock it off.
