Of all the features people look for in a home, a basic sense of security is always at the top of the list. The days of leaving our doors unlocked may be over for good, but that doesn't mean we can't seek out the safest neighborhoods for ourselves and our families.
The website SafeWise.com knows a thing or two about that need for security. With over 75 years of combined experience, their team painstakingly sifts through the data to provide thorough and up-to-date information on products to safeguard the home. Now, they've analyzed FBI and population figures to rank the 50 safest cities in California for 2016.
The City of Imperial came in at No. 1 on SafeWise's list, moving up from second place last year. It had 0.30 violent crimes per 1,000. Property crimes per 1,000 were 2.78. Hillsborough, which previously held the top spot, fell to No. 6.
Rancho Santa Margarita came in second place (violent crimes per 1,000: 0.54; property crimes per 1,000: 4.10). Aliso Viejo came in third.
