The holidays are almost upon us. Sure, this is a time for joy and family. But it’s also a season notorious for letting loose — often with a few too many egg nogs — at family gatherings and holiday work parties. And, by the looks of it, San Diego will see more than its fair share of tipsiness this year.
America’s Finest City is also the booziest city in America, according to Delphi Behavioral Group. The drug and alcohol treatment network recently released an annual list of alcohol expenditures by city and San Diego took the No. 1 spot, with residents spending $1,112 on alcohol per year. By comparison, Californians averaged $850 in alcohol consumption annually.
Also making the list was the City of San Francisco.
Here is the list of the Top 10 Booziest Cities based on alcohol expenditures for 2018:

2. Seattle, WA: $986
3. San Francisco, CA: $875
4. Boston, MA: $823
5. Anchorage, AK: $788
6. Denver, CO: $771
7. Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN: $754
8. Baltimore, MD: $724
9. St. Louis, MO: $684
10. Washington, D.C.: $662
