San Diego has surpassed San Francisco and Los Angeles as the least affordable city for homebuyers, according to a new report from real estate technology company OJO Labs.
Home prices increased 14.3% in San Diego last year, reaching a median price of $764,000 in January. Compared to median household incomes, that makes San Diego the least affordable metro with an OJO unaffordability score of 8.1.
The second-least affordable metro in California is San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose, with a score of 7.90, followed by Los Angeles (7.87) and Sacramento-Stockton-Modesto (5.76).
