San Fernando City Manager Brian Saeki will join the City of Covina at the start of the new year. He’s filling a seven-month vacancy left by the sudden resignation of Andrea Miller in May. Don Penman has been serving in the interim.
“I and the council are excited to have Mr. Saeki join us as our Covina City Manager,” said Covina Mayor Kevin Stapleton. “We are confident he will bring his leadership and team building spirit to accomplish great things here.”
Saeki boasts more than twenty years of public sector experience, having previously worked for the cities of Downey, Rosemead, and Arcadia. He has held the top executive position in San Fernando for almost three years. His former roles in city government also include community development director, assistant city manager and economic development manager.
Saeki will earn an annual base salary of $205,000. He takes over on Jan. 3.
