The City of Seaside in Monterey County has tapped a Missourian to serve as its next city manager.
The city council hired Maryville, Missouri City Manager Greg McDanel last week. He’ll earn a salary of $285,000 once he assumes duties on March 17.
McDanel has managed Maryville since 2012, making him the city’s longest-serving chief executive. He has also worked for the City of Independence, Missouri and previously served as City Administrator of Cherryvale, Kansas. He is an ICMA-Credentialed Manager.
Seaside has been without a permanent city manager since June when Jaime Fontes was fired from the job. The search for a replacement drew 37 applicants.
