A quaint city in northeastern Spain began making international headlines last week after it was invaded by more than 1,000 wayward sheep.
The reason? Their shepherd was taking a nap.
The animals were preparing for a trip to the Pyrenees in the early morning hours of June 7 when their one and only shepherd accidentally dozed off. Naturally, the flock took off running. Police video captured them perusing the streets without a care in the world.
Authorities were eventually able to round up the sheep and return them to the shepherd, who we assume is no longer employed. But hey, can we really blame him after counting all those sheep?
