Simi Valley Assistant City Manager Samantha Argabrite has been chosen to succeed City Manager Brian Gabler when he retires on June 30. The city council voted 5-0 Wednesday to begin contract negotiations with Argabrite, with a final employment agreement expected by June 24.
Argabrite has worked for Simi Valley since 2007 when she took a job in the Community Services Department. She has served as Assistant City Manager since January 2023. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s in public administration from CSU Northridge.
Gabler has served as the city’s top administrator for the past four years and has been employed by the city for nearly four decades. He announced his retirement in December.
Argabrite is expected to take over on July 1.
