Valentine’s Day may be over, but it isn’t too late to find love—especially in the Golden State.
NerdWallet.com recently released its list of the top 20 best cities for singles in America, and four California destinations have made the list. To determine the results, NerdWallet looked at several factors conducive to a budding romance. Analyzing 50 of the largest U.S. cities, the site considered aspects such as the availability of singles, dating affordability, and each city’s social scene.
Boston, MA came it at #1 for the second year in a row. A whopping 69.32% of the population 15 and over remain unmarried, and a date there will cost you about $83.38. There’s also no shortage of entertainment and nightlife for that special someone, the site notes.
Washington, D.C. was runner-up, with an even larger percentage of singles (70.27%). Dates are a little pricier in the nation’s capital, however, which cost it some major points.
Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Cleveland rounded out the top 5, with San Francisco coming in at #6.
“San Francisco boasts what is arguably the liveliest social scene of any of the top 10 cities,” according to NerdWallet. And, while a date is sure to cost you more than $100, you’ll still find a good number of singles to court (60.14%).
The cities of Oakland, Long Beach, and Los Angeles also made the list at #9, #14, and #16 respectively.
