Federal authorities announced the arrest of a 26-year-old Reseda man Monday who was allegedly planning terror attacks on multiple locations across Southern California.
Authorities say U.S. Army veteran Mark Steven Domingo is a supporter of ISIS and was planning the attacks as revenge for a mass shooting at a mosque in Christchurch, New Zealand. He was going to detonate explosives at the Santa Monica Pier, L.A. freeways, and in Long Beach. He had also intended to target members of law enforcement and attendees of a “white nationalist rally” in Huntington Beach.
Domingo’s plot was foiled by the actions of an undercover FBI agent who interacted with the suspect online for a period of six weeks.
Monday’s announcement came two days after a shooting at a Poway synagogue and less than one week after a man mowed down suspected Muslims in a truck in Sunnyvale.
