South Pasadena City Manager Arminé Chaparyan has stepped down, effective July 2.
The City Council accepted Chaparyan’s resignation in a 5-0 vote. Her separation agreement calls for a lump-sum payment of $307,500 plus $1,727.10 in unused leave.
Police Chief Brian Solinsky and Community Services Director Sheila Pautsch have been appointed co-acting city managers. The appointment of a permanent replacement is “the top priority of the Council,” said Mayor Evelyn Zneimer.
“The City Council appreciates the hard work of all its employees and we are confident that together we will continue to move the City forward,” she added.
Chaparyan had served as city manager since 2021. She previously worked as Assistant City Manager/Community Development Director in San Gabriel and Redevelopment Manager for the City of Santa Clarita.
