The San Ramon City Council has promoted Interim City Manager Steven Spedowfski to the permanent post. He succeeds former City Manager Joe Gorton, who retired in January.
“It is a great honor to be selected as San Ramon’s next City Manager,” he said in a statement. “This is a wonderful community, and I am looking forward to continuing to serve the residents of San Ramon in this new capacity."
Spedowfski has worked for the city for more than two decades. He previously served as deputy city manager.
From 2014-2018, Spedowfski served as a council member in Livermore. He also served on Livermore’s Planning Commission, and was chair of the commission in 2013.
Spedowfski holds a Master's in Public Administration and a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice Administration, both from California State University Hayward.
