Move over, Oakland. A new study claims San Bernardino is the most dangerous city in California.
The analysis was conducted by the law firm Graham Donath and relied on data from the FBI and U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, as well as information provided by local police departments. After looking at 68 cities across the state, Graham Donath ranked their safety based on three categories: crime, police presence and community factors.
While Oakland, California ranked most dangerous for crime alone, other factors such as policing, poverty and bankruptcy put San Bernardino over the top. The same was true for Stockton, Modesto, Vallejo and Salinas, which rounded out the top five. Oakland came in at #6, followed by Antioch, Pomona, Victorville and Inglewood.
