After an extensive search, Suisun City has selected administrator Bert Prebula as its next city manager, effective April 15. Prebula was one of 23 candidates from across the U.S. who were considered for the job.
“I feel so lucky to have touched so many different facets of municipal work during my career, and I believe these experiences have primed me to effectively lead the city,” said Prebula, who currently manages the City of Clayton. “I am committed to creating a municipality focused on efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and fostering community understanding of the value provided by city staff.”
“Mr. Prebula has a versatile skill set serving in various capacities such as management analyst, assistant Treasurer-Tax Collector, Finance Director, IT Director, and assistant City Manager,” according to a Suisun City news release. “Bret also spent time as a local business entrepreneur. Most recently, he served as City Manager for the City of Clayton. With a Master of Business Administration degree under his belt, Mr. Prebula is well-equipped to lead Suisun City into its next phase of growth and development.”
Before managing Clayton, Prebula was the top administrator for Benicia. He has also served as a finance director and was the assistant treasurer-tax collector in Napa County until 2019.
