SmartAsset has released rankings of the happiest cities in the U.S. Seventeen out of the top 50 are right here in California.
The financial advice website reviewed the nation’s 165 largest cities for this study. Researchers combed federal data on personal finances, well-being, and quality of life.
Nationally, Sunnyvale, California took the #1 spot followed by Arlington, Virginia.
Sunnyvale has the highest percentage of individuals earning at least $100,000 per year and the third-lowest percentage of adults living in poverty. Marriage rates are high and violent crime is extremely low.
