State and local agencies are increasingly using data to improve their performance, engage residents and support job creation. There are many opportunities for local governments to use technology and leverage best practices around data management – and the recent passage of Proposition 42 raises more questions about how the state may even require local governments to collect and communicate public data.
Code for America and California Forward are convening a forum next Wednesday June 25 to review these questions and opportunities for cities. Many leading experts form public agencies and private firms will be on hand to walk through success stories and the ‘ABCs’ of open data and technology for your city. Speakers include:
- Lea Deesing, Chief Innovation Officer at City of Riverside
- Paul Granillo, CEO, Inland Empire Economic Partnership
- Jack Madans, Code for America
- Numerous App Developers and ‘Civic Innovators’
The event is free and open to elected officials and staff from cities, counties and school districts.
