Tracking Early Vote Data for California
Polls don’t close until 8 PM in California, but we already have some data to chew on.
The following early vote highlights come from Political Data Inc. and were current as of Monday, Nov. 4 at 6:30 PM:
Over 8 million ballots have been returned in California so far
At least 36% of registered voters have already cast their ballots
38% of ballots mailed and returned are from registered Democrats
43% of ballots mailed and returned are from registered Republicans
27% of ballots mailed and returned are from independents
Turnout among voters age 65+ is 59%
Turnout among voters ages 18-39 is 19%
The top three counties for voter turnout in California thus far are Amador (52%), Nevada (52%), and El Dorado (48%)
Lake County has returned the fewest ballots so far (13%)
