Savita Chaudhary is poised to become the next city manager of Vacaville in Solano County.

The Vacaville City Council named Chaudhary to the chief administrative position Wednesday. The council is scheduled to vote on her appointment Tuesday, May 13.

Chaudhary has worked in public service for more than 20 years. She is currently Assistant City Manager of Fairfield. She previously served as Director of Information Technology for Fairfield, Director of 311 Call Center and Information Technology for the City of Berkeley, and Information Technology Division Manager for Vacaville.

After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Master of Science in Statistics from Delhi University in India, Chaudhary earned a Master of Public Administration from Golden Gate University. She is a member of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA), California City Management Foundation, the Municipal Management Association of Northern California (MMANC), the Municipal Information Systems Association of California (MISAC), and the Metropolitan Information Exchange (MIX). She also serves on the Governance, Transparency, and Labor Relations Policy Committee of the League of California Cities, where she represents the City Managers’ Department.

“On behalf of the City Council, we are pleased to welcome Savita Chaudhary as Vacaville’s next City Manager,” said Mayor John Carli. “Savita’s visionary leadership, collaborative spirit, and deep commitment to public service make her the ideal choice to lead Vacaville at this critical juncture in our city’s growth. Her innovative mindset and firsthand knowledge of our community will help us advance our shared goals for economic vitality, sustainable development, and quality of life. The Council and I are excited to work alongside her as we shape Vacaville’s future.”
