La Habra Heights has set its sights on 33-year-old Villa Park City Manager Jarad Hildenbrand in its quest to fill the vacancy left by outgoing City Manager Shauna Clark. Hildenbrand will take over on Dec. 16, with his contract expected to be approved at the city council’s meeting on Nov. 10.
“(La Habra Heights) pretty much mirrors Villa Park. I felt it was written for me,” Hildenbrand said.
Former La Mirada City Manager Tom Robinson, who has been serving in the interim, called him a “bright young man” with a good deal of experience in a similar city.
Hildenbrand has served as city manager in Villa Park since 2012. He joined the city as an intern in 2006, steadily moving up through the ranks. He earned a bachelor’s degree in public administration from Cal State Fullerton in 2009 and a masters of public administration degree from Cal State Long Beach in 2016.
