A man and woman found dead in a Seal Beach apartment after an hours-long standoff Monday have been identified as 49-year-old Los Alamitos Police Captain Rick Moore and 37-year-old Westminster City Clerk Amanda Jensen. Moore and Jensen both died from apparent gunshot wounds. Their bodies were discovered at around 2 a.m., approximately seven hours after police first responded to a 911 call placed by Jensen.
The two are believed to have been in a romantic relationship, but were broken up at the time. They had moved into the apartment several months ago and had already had several domestic disputes.
Police did not say who they believe the shooter was, but indicated a murder-suicide. An ear witness reportedly heard Jensen say “No, don’t do this!” prior to the shots.
Rick Moore had been with the Los Alamitos Police Department for the past 9 years, serving as captain since 2015. Jensen, a mother of three, had worked for the Westminster City Clerk’s Office for 11 years and became head of the department two years ago.
