Join the Department of Health Services Team as an Accountant I!
The Accountant I is a critical part of the Department of Health Services fiscal team, and will be assigned to the Behavioral Health Substance Use Disorders and DUI Sections. This position is responsible for:
· Budget preparation and forecasting
· Financial reporting, including quarterly and year-end analysis and the annual state cost report
· Grant monitoring and invoicing
· Journal entry preparation
· Approval of payment vouchers
· Administration of all community based organization contracts
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess: experience reviewing, reconciling, processing, and maintaining fiscal transactions, accounts, and/or statistical data and records; experience processing Federal and State grant claims and preparing corresponding reports; demonstrated knowledge of automated business applications and fiscal database management; proficient Excel and Access skills; and experience interpreting and applying federal, state, and county laws, regulations, and policies related to County accounting practices and principles.
