The City of Port Hueneme is seeking a qualified Account/Senior Accountant who is self-driven and able to work under minimal supervision. This staff member will administer finance activities for the City including duties related to the application of Governmental Accounting, Auditing, and Financial Reporting Standards as developed by GFOA, and the application of GAAP as they relate to municipal finance.
The ideal candidate must be knowledgeable of public agency financial management and be capable of working collaboratively and maneuvering through complex situations effectively to get things done. They must have a combination of education/experience which would provide the necessary knowledge and abilities; Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work emphasis in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field; or an Associate's Degree with coursework in Accounting supplemented by three or more years of experience.
