The City of Monrovia is looking for a unique individual to serve as the Accounting Assistant in the Administrative Services Department. This individual should be someone who is inspired to take initiatives in rejuvenating processes and seeks satisfaction in maintaining the City’s focus on fiscal responsibility. Additionally, the individual should be someone who can effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
This position will require a high level of customer service to assist internal and external customers in payment processing. The successful candidate will, process, retain, and track payments for over 9,500 residents.
The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for a variety of ongoing day to day tasks and projects:
- Collaborate with a diverse team to provide excellent customer service to residents, business owners, contractors and other patrons of the City
- Balance and reconcile funds on a daily basis to ensure accurate records
- Organize department files and communicate explanations and policies to customers and staff
- Prepare a variety of fiscal reports, statements, and schedules

Qualifications: Any combination of education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, abilities and skills is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the qualifications would be:
- High School graduation and one (1) year general office experience, including familiarity with computers and office software programs. Bi-lingual skills desirable.
- Possession of a valid Class C California Driver’s License and a good driving record
