The City of Ventura is hiring! The City of Ventura Aquatics Team is looking for a skilled Aquatics Coordinator to join the team!
WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Aquatics Coordinator plans, coordinates, and implements the City's comprehensive aquatics programs and events. This position will schedule, train, and supervise the work of assigned part-time and temporary staff and perform various clerical and administrative support functions.
WHO YOU ARE
A motivated, self-starter who is highly organized to coordinate the programs
Communicates effectively with a diverse group of people, solving problems and resolving conflicts diplomatically
Exercises independent, sound judgment in emergency situations, while remaining calm
Position Qualifications
A combination of education, training and experience equivalent to completion of some college coursework in a related field, and two years of progressively responsible experience implementing services in the field of aquatics or recreation are required; OR in lieu of college coursework, a total of three years total experience as described above.
License: Depending on assignment, possession of a valid California Class C driver's license may be required.
Certificates:
The following valid certifications are REQUIRED at time of application submittal and MUST be attached to this application to be considered:
•American Red Cross Lifeguard Training
•American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Instructor
•American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor
The following valid certifications are highly desirable at time of application submittal:
•American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Instructor Trainer
•American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer
•American Red Cross Title 22 for the Public Safety Personnel (formerly titled - American Red Cross Emergency Response Training -Title 22)
•American Red Cross Emergency Response Instructor

Salary and Benefits
The City offers a compensation package that includes both a generous salary and excellent benefits!
SALARY: $28.92 - $35.16 Hourly DOQ
