The City is searching for an Assistant City Manager to lead land use and development functions, including Community Development, Engineering and Transportation, Housing, Economic Development, and management of City-owned properties. The third largest city in San Mateo County, Redwood City serves a population of 86,754 in the heart of the Silicon Valley. Redwood City seeks competitive candidates with experience managing complex land use and development activities, facilitating public and private infrastructure development, and supporting an effective housing program. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and proven success engaging community members, elected officials, and City staff along with developing creative solutions will be expected. A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible and varied experience, including three years as an executive or senior manager in local government, is desirable. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
